The campus ID card at the University of Calgary, Canada is used by students for an array of daily activities from security identification to gym access, and future plans are to expand the system even further, according to a student newspaper.
The school plans to replace traditional payment methods at vendors with the Campus ONEcard, the university’s multipurpose identification, debit and access card used across campus. “We’d like to see more third-party vendors, maybe in the food court downstairs or maybe even off campus,” said Trevor Rempel, the university’s business manager for residence and ancillary. Only a select amount of vendors currently accept the card.
